Comedy, Media, Hosts/MC's
Ben Darsow is a genuinely funny and highly versatile standup comedian from Adelaide who combines clever observational jokes with regular moments of improvised gold.
Ben tours the nation’s comedy club circuit relentlessly as both a headline act and MC and in early 2014 he was approached to co-host Mix 102.3 Adelaide Breakfast Show.
Ben is set to present his sixth solo Adelaide Fringe show this March.
His 2013 show ‘30 minutes’ received 4 stars from the Advertiser, which described him as ‘a champion – seriously funny’ and his comedy as ‘cleverly crafted humour and slick improvisational skills’.
Ben’s genuine nature, accessible material and ability to tailor his performing style allow him to add value in a wide range of environments.
In early 2013, he MCed the Australian Swimwear Model of the Year competition in Sydney and in 2012 he ground announced an Adelaide United Hyundai A-League Game in front of 5000 fans in Hindmarsh Stadium.
Ben has entertained all male audiences in the mining communities of the Pilbara region in WA and has also been a hit with all female audiences in Perth’s ‘Ladies Night Out’ and at the awards night for the SA Mallee Netball Association.
A growing list of corporate clients have enjoyed Ben’s services – these include the Adelaide Crows Football Club, Hyundai Australia, Fox Tucker Lawyers, Sydney’s Concord Golf Club and the Royal Australian Air Force.
Ben has presented solo shows in the 2013 Sydney Comedy Festival, the 2011 Perth International Comedy Festival and the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Ben will make his international performing debut in June when he travels to the US and Canada for 10 weeks.
Earlier in his career he featured on FHM’s Search for Australia’s Funniest Man DVD and on the Comedy Channel’s Standup Australia.
He was also a state winner and national finalist in Triple J’s Raw Comedy and won the SA final of Rove’s Search for Australia’s Funniest Undiscovered Comedian.
There is a truckload of live footage of Ben on Youtube from shows all around Australia.

“Thank you so much for the wonderful job you did at our function on Saturday night; your contribution was most certainly appreciated by all. You provided us with many laughs and many of which were the talk around our coffee machine this morning. The service on the night created a few hiccups which put us behind time, the wedding next door was definitely a distraction, but these things happen and we just have to work with it, and you did that! It was lovely getting to know you Ben. Good luck with all your ventures for this year. We wish you great success.”
Louise Howie, Hyundai Motor Company Australia
“Ben was fantastic! The audience loved him and they're a hard group to please. He was so easy to work with and all round great guy. Would definitely recommend him for other events. Thanks for organising him and for the follow up. Was a great night for our corporate sponsors!”
Natalie - Events and Coterie Coordinator - Adelaide Crows
“Thank you so much, yes the event was wonderful. We raised the most we have in this year than any of the years before so that is great for ICU. Ben was amazing; he was perfect for this event with his material which he tailored to sport and men! It was hilarious and I had the pleasure of sitting at Ben’s table and he is a really nice guy! We have never had a comedian before at the golf day so I think that made it a lot less corporate and a lot more fun for our audience. Everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously, we have such great supporters and sponsors and to show them a good time as well with Ben coming along was just incredible. I’d like to thank Ben and yourselves for your amazing work and we hope to keep in contact for next year’s event. Thank you again.”
