Comedy, Media, Hosts/MC's
With his film star good looks, Cam Knight’s fast one-liners and wickedly absurd flights of fancy almost take you buy surprise with their brilliance. Less surprising is the fact that he trained as an actor and ‘fell into’ stand-up via improvised comedy.
Cam’s earliest acting gigs were supporting roles on sketch shows like The Micallef Programme and Big Bite before making a name for himself on Foxtel and The Comedy Channel presenting such shows as World Comedy Tour 2005, Thank Comedy It’s Friday and Cam & Charlie’s Guide To The Festival before hosting two seasons of Stand Up Australia – still Foxtel’s longest-running show. Other television work includes roles in The Jesters, Stingers and Blue Heelers and an appearance on Good News Week as a member of Man Choir.
Cam has appeared and performed with some of the world’s best comics, including Demetri Martin, Mike Wilmot, Stephen K Amos, Seth Green and Will Ferrell. His festival shows include six years of Impro Sundae (2000-2005) at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, followed by stand-up shows Let Me Entertain You Too (2006), Split Bill (2007) and Then There’s Love (2008). In 2010 he performed the critically acclaimed ManCHILD at the 2010 Adelaide Fringe Festival.
In addition to having hosted a variety of corporate events, awards nights and fundraisers including Tour De Cure Bond Night at the Ritz Cinema, McGrath Foundation Luncheon at the Golden Slipper, Cam is an adventure addict who’s snowboarded in Iran, and completed a Brisbane-to-Cairns Tour De Cure Cycle Challenge for cancer research.
